Katherine Peralta was born and raised in Southern New Mexico but has called Northern New Mexico her home most of her adult life. Katherine is a first-generation college graduate and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern New Mexico University where she has concentrations in Early Childhood Education and Sociology. In the past Katherine served as a Family Service Coordinator for Early Intervention, where she coordinated services for families of children with developmental disabilities. Shortly after the birth of her second child she took time away from the workforce to raise her young children. Katherine currently serves as a Family Navigator for both Raton and Clayton. With being a wife and mother of three daughters, family and helping those in need is Katherine’s top priority in life! Her own life experiences have inspired her to serve others in need. Katherine herself experienced a high-risk pregnancy with her youngest child while living rurally, she knows the importance of having access to resources and the importance of building a support system along the way. Katherine tries to live life by her favorite quote written by Ayesha Siddiqi, “Be the person you needed when you were younger.” It’s a powerful reminder to strive to be the role model, the mentor or the support system for those in need.
