Youth Empowerment Services

Youth Empowerment Services is a program that offers home visiting for families in Colfax and Union Counties in New Mexico.

Home visiting is a free service offered to pregnant women and families with children from 0-5. Our home visitors offer non-judgmental support for your family and help prepare parents to cope with the everyday stressors associated with the transition to parenting, which are inevitable when a new baby enters your family. We work with other community organizations to help parents navigate the systems that are available to reduce those stressors. This leaves more time and energy for the joys of parenting as the family builds a relationship with their child.

The Children’s Workshop

The Children’s Workshop in Raton, New Mexico offers free early intervention for families in North East New Mexico. Early Intervention is a program that benefits children from birth to three years old who have or are at risk for developmental delays. A child with a developmental delay may have more difficulty than other children learning to crawl, walk or communicate. Certain biological, medical or environmental conditions such as preterm or low birth weight, children with chronic illnesses and factors of abuse may place a child at risk for developmental delay. What are the benefits of Early Intervention? Children who are enrolled in early intervention programs tend to have higher self-esteem, greater school success, greater social and emotional competence and improved physical health.

Our team travels many miles to serve families in the counties of Colfax, Union, Harding, Mora and San Miguel.
